Being able to see what other sewists and designers have made or are working on has been a very important part of this membership. They ask about a part of their project and it spurns a mini lesson that benefits the entire community—there isn’t anywhere else that I see that happening online or in a tangible setting offline. Since the majority of the members are not in the position to go to fashion school (nor is that necessary a goal), the membership provides that classroom learning schematic of fostering enthusiasm for each other’s ideas and endeavors, and also allows us to receive feedback on our own projects as well.

If you want to learn how to make your own patterns you should begin your journey with Tricia. Once you’ve taken her course you will be a pattern maker. She’s great to work with and the community is supportive and so much fun.
